Some of these botanical paintings are drawn and painted life size and the plants grown in my garden, others are enlarged to add drama.

 

Painting directly from the subject enables me to study the plant and choose the most interesting aspects. Sometimes seeds, roots and buds are included in a composition while other paintings focus on one bloom or seed head.
